Understanding Vessel Events, Track Display, Colours & Symbols — How They’re Identified and Shown on the Map

Starboard identifies vessel events to help you analyse a vessel’s movements. This includes:

Event	Track Colour/Style
Missing AIS data →	Dashed line
Loitering →	Dark grey line
Loitering and missing AIS →	Dashed line and dotted circle
Anomalous movements →	Orange track and an icon with orange line
Encounters →	Dark red line and an icon with red double arrow icon
Likely transshipment →	Dark red line and an icon with dark red arrows, one solid one dashed
Inferred transshipment →	Dark red line and an icon with dark red arrows, one solid one dashed
Fishing →	Pink line

Events are shown on the map, in the vessel's history, and can be used as filters to find vessels of interest. The track icons, colours, and styles shown below help you distinguish between different types of vessel events on the map.
