The Map Layers menu is your control panel for customising the information shown on the Starboard map.

From this menu, you can toggle vessel-related visuals like names, tracks and event icons, display AIS data points or buoys, and layer in additional context such as oceanographic data, satellite imagery, and alternative basemap styles.

To open the Map Layers menu, click the three-layer icon at the top of the map near the search bar. You’ll then see several drop-down categories to choose from.

Follow the links to learn more about the options available in each map layer category:

Some organisations may have additional map layers available which have been created for specific purposes and are not visible to other Starboard users. If your organisation has specific needs for bespoke map layers, contact the team to discuss the feasibility of integration: support@starboard.nz
